Lisa Stardust, an astrologer based in NYC, coined the term ‘Mercury Retro-shade’ - for that period of time right before and after a mercury sips gatorade 

She warns “the retro-shade period is the wonkiest time of the retrograde" -

This is where we dot the I’s, line the T’s, fix shit, communicate and stand by our new boundaries, do what we’ve pondered about, take tangible steps towards our destination. 

Mercury retrograde is the rest stop on the road trip.

Mercury retroshade is taking the reflections gleaned so far on the first half of the trip, applying that, packing the car back up, and driving onwards.

This will last until the New Moon in Pisces on March 13th - a new cycle will begin. 🌱🌑

I’m never for fear-based narratives around Mercury retro (or any astrology, for that matter) - cuz here’s the kicker, Mercury retrograde is an optical illusion. Planets don’t move backward in space. It’s about our perspective here from Earth - this transit flips our perspectives so that we can see things differently. 

These check in’s happen approx every 90-100 days - going back to the road trip metaphor - you’ve got to fill up your gas, make sure the driver is well-rested, get the oil changed and the tire pressure checked.
