Finding a Therapist - How do I know if that’s the option for me?
Finding a therapist can be a lot like dating -
I mean you’re opening up about your feelings, insecurities, vulnerabilities - it can’t be just anybody, ya feel?
Therapy can be an invaluable resource on its own or alongside other healing modalities & coaching.
I’m a huge fan of therapy, and to find my current therapist who I’ve been working with for 4 years! (therapy is not just for when things are bad y’all!)
She was the 5th therapist I had met with, and things finally clicked. It took some time, but it was worth it.
The Difference between Therapy and Coaching practices and how to know which one best suits your current needs:
Therapy:
Mental Health Focused
You’re Experiencing Symptoms that are causing a High Level of Distress
Working through your Past and/or Trauma
You’re looking for a Diagnosis and/or Medication
Navigating Emotional Health
Problem-oriented, Pathology-oriented
Option to get covered by insurance
(There are lots of types of therapy specific to client needs!)
Coaching:
Growth & Future-oriented
Expanding to your next level
Getting “unstuck”
Mindset work
Blends in energetics + a spiritual lens (I do this in my practice!)
Support & Strategy in a specific area of life (business/career, relationship, lifestyle, spirituality, etc)
Accountability
Visioning & Values Work
Both of them:
Learn New Strategies
Can Contribute to Emotional, Mental & Spiritual Development + Healing
Reframing your Thoughts
Moving forward in your life
I’ve worked with both a therapist and coaches, and they’ve both been pivotal to my journey!
My work is a blend of Coaching + Energy Work, and I focus on getting my clients into alignment with their energy, so that they can create soulful success + grow from a place of joy, ease and love.

Your workplace may have a therapy benefit included in medical benefits or a separate program
If you are a student, there may be therapy services available on campus at no or low cost
Group therapy/coaching is wonderful to experience. This is usually at a lower cost than 1:1 sessions and also powerfully healing if aligned.
